EASTER DAY – Resurrection Sunday

The angel answered the women, ‘Don’t be afraid for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here for He has risen, just like He said.  Come see the place where the Lord was lying. Matthew 28.5-6

Welcome!  Come with us today to the empty tomb and know that by His resurrection, through faith, we are able to know the peace of God that comes through the forgiveness of our sins. Revd. Alastair Bolt will lead a study morning covering such topics as:

  • preaching from the Bible more effectively;
  • preaching to response;
  • preaching sermons people really want to come and hear.

The outcome of the discussion has led to the need for a special general church meeting to be held. It is an open meeting at which all who are part of Bible Christian may attend so as to discuss the future of the Church. This meeting will be attended by the Superintendent of the Circuit.

Message from the Church treasurer, Andrew Care. I realise that everyone’s financial position is different, and I also understand that some of the members of our fellowship are not members of the Methodist Church.  To help our understanding prior to Tuesday evenings’ meetings, I write the following information. The amount necessary to meet the assessment for the West Cornwall Circuit is £7 per member a week – this is based on 39 Members, all other expenses have to be met on top of this.

Edward and Mary Paynter celebrate their Diamond Wedding on this coming Thursday. Many congratulations to them, and we trust they have a happy day!

Please pray for Joan Watkins and family on Tuesday. The funeral of Ron her husband will take place at noon at Treswithian Crematorium, Camborne.

Meetings at Redruth Baptist Church on 30th March, at 3pm and 5.30pm.  The Title will be ‘A picture of the Marriage of the Lamb.’ – a Jewish Wedding – Rev 19.7, the Speaker will be John Angliss from the Prophetic Witness Movement International.

There will be a Rendezvous meeting at 7.30pm at Carnhell Green next Saturday.  The Speaker will be Mark Pellow.

The collection taken at the World Day of Prayer amounted to £108.20. Many thanks to all who contributed.

He is a bit depressed, and is not eating well, but the Consultant is optimistic! Leah has had her heart operation, but still has a way to go. Jimmy Barber is now back at the home in Camborne, but still needs much prayer. All of these people need our prayers!. There are still many in our Fellowship to pray for. Claire is still going on steadily, and after a heart scan the Consultant was very pleased, and we can give thanks for that.  Please remember Mary Parsons, Ted and Margaret Allford, Margaret and David Stratton and Vera Care. Also pray for Allie Bygrave and Iris Bidgood as well as Joshua Peters. Doreen has not been very well, and would be glad of our prayers. Pray without ceasing! We can thank the Lord that we are well and able to pray for others not so fortunate! Our prayers are with Maurice and Trish and the family at this sad time and  pray they will have safe journeys home from Cumbria in the coming days. Also our prayers are for Joan Watkins, whose husband Ron passed away on Tuesday morning.  We pray for her and the family at this sad time.

 Please pray for Edward Jenkyn.  He is in hospital having had a hip replacement, but is not at all well.  Jimmy Barber is also very poorly in hospital having fractured both his legs.  Both of these people need our prayers! Maurice’s father John passed away on Monday.  Our prayers are with Maurice and Trish and the family at this sad time.  We pray they will have safe journeys to and from Cumbria in the coming days.

We wish Elizabeth Berg a very Happy Birthday for yesterday.  How lovely to be young!

Pastor Tomasz Chylka from Poland will be visiting us on Tuesday 12th March at 7.30pm followed by refreshments in the Church Hall.

Tomasz is active in evangelism, with a special ministry to drug addicts, and also co-ordinates the mission school in Ruptawa. If you are able to help with the refreshments, please let Susan know.

Monday, 4th March at 7pm the Prayer Meeting leader will be Alan Rose.

On the first Saturday of every month, there is an open prayer meeting from 10am until 2pm at Fore Street Methodist.  At recent joint churches gathering, it was thought to have this around different churches in St Ives/Carbis Bay.  If you want to know what is involved, you are welcome to pop in at the next one in March.

 Please pray for Edward Jenkyn.  He is in hospital having had a hip replacement, but is not at all well.  Also pray for Leah, she has had her operation cancelled once again, and is due now to have it on 3rd March.  Please pray that it will not be cancelled again.  It is very worrying for a child, and also the family!  There are still many in our Fellowship to pray for. Claire had a full body scan on Thursday and more blood tests on Friday – hoping to have more treatment on Monday.  Please remember Mary Parsons Ted and Margaret Allford, Margaret and David Stratton, Vera Care, Jimmy and Vanessa Barber and Ron Watkins. Also pray for;   Allie Bygrave, Betty Stevens and Iris Bidgood.  Pray without ceasing! The list of those to pray for seems to get longer each week.  We can thank the Lord that we are well and able to pray for others not so fortunate!

Please also pray for Joshua Peters the 14year old great grandson of Lilian Stevens who has had surgery and is receiving treatment.  We have not heard how he is, but a brain tumour is a serious problem!

There will be a special Prayer Meeting for United Beach Missions at the bookshop in Zion Community Church from 9am until 10am on Wednesday, 27th February.  Please try to get there to pray for this wonderful work that goes on in our town.

Dr R.T Kendall formally of Westminster Chapel will be visiting us on Saturday and Sunday the 9th and 10th of March. Saturday 7pm with the St Ives Male Praise Choir. The subjects he will be covering are Forgiveness, Prayer and the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Tomasz Chylka from Poland will be visiting us on Tuesday 12th March at 7.30pm followed by refreshments in the Church Hall. Tomasz is active in evangelism, with a special ministry to drug addicts, and also co-ordinates the mission school in Ruptawa. If you are able to help with the refreshments, please let Susan Care know.
