A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered and died because they had no moisture. Luke 8.5 – 6

There are still many in our Fellowship to pray for. Please remember Mary (Parsons) Ted and Margaret, Margaret and David, Vera, Jimmy Barber and Vanessa, Allie, and Ron Watkins. Elizabeth was taken ill at the Choir Practice, and needs our prayers, that she will soon be feeling much better. Claire is going on steadily. Iris Bidgood is not very well, and needs our prayers. She is due to have a hip replacement on 2nd October. Pray for Paul and Debbie Trevorrow as they go through this difficult time. Debbie is very poorly!
The Chapel would like to thank all those who made our Harvest so enjoyable. In particular to Mary for decorating the Chapel and also Janice for the lovely display of flowers. Also, thanks to the many who contributed and helped at the Harvest Supper.
You are invited to a meeting of Rendezvous to be held at 7.30pm on 29th September, at Scorrier Methodist Church. Speaker to be Brian Edwards – ‘Praying for Revival.’.
After Elizabeth’s trouble on Monday, it came apparent that there should be a list of contact numbers for every person in the Chapel. Please would everyone give a telephone number of someone to be contacted in the event of an accident, to Mary Cowling. This list will be kept at the Chapel for use in an emergency! If you have previously given a contact number to Mary, can you please check that it has not changed – this often happens if the person changes their phone.
Chapel Christmas Dinner 2018. This year we will be going to Carbis Bay Hotel on Sunday 16th December at 12.30pm for lunch at 1 o’clock. A £10 deposit per head is required when ordering (to be paid to Elizabeth by the end of September). Balance to be paid by end of November. Everyone is welcome!
Redecoration of Chapel. The cost of redecorating, outside and some inside will cost £6840. We have £4000 towards this (2 years of gift aid, gifts already received and gifts given in memory of loved ones). The gifts received at Harvest will go towards this project.
If anyone feels they would like to lead the worship before the services, please speak to Peter James.
Will folk please note that the car parking space at the Church Hall is only to be used for Church related activities. Sometimes people have come to clean the Chapel (or other duties) and have not been able to park.
Please remember to collect stamps for Slavic Gospel Association funds. There is a collecting jar in the Schoolroom.
All the services in the Chapel are recorded and are available to purchase or to borrow. See Maurice Jackson or Joel Perkin if you would like to have one.
Thought for the Week: Jesus provides an oasis of grace in the desert of trials!
