Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4.12.
We are pleased that you are able to join with us today. If you are on holiday, please take our greetings back to your home church. We are here to worship our risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The Service this morning will be taken by Rev Robert Amess and the service this evening will be taken by Deacon Stephen Richardson. There are still many in our Fellowship to pray for. Please remember Mary (Parsons) Ted and Margaret, Margaret and David, Vera, and Jimmy Barber and Vanessa. Claire update! MRI scan showed that the cancer in her brain is clear on both sides – even the Doctor cannot believe it! Prayer works! She still continues with chemo on other parts of her body tomorrow. Don’t forget to pray for Allie. Ron Watkins is not well and needs prayer. Pray for Paul and Debbie Trevorrow as they go through this difficult time.
Paul and Friedrich go off to University this week. Pray that they do well and make good friends there – hopefully in the Christian Community!
There will be a service at Trewartha Care Home in Carbis Bay at 11am on Thursday this week. Please come and join the singing!
Notice from Zion Church. We are holding a Harvest Service at St Martin’s Home (Camborne) on this coming Friday at 3pm. If anyone would like to join with us, they would be most welcome. Please arrive at 2.30pm.
There will be a Choir practice for the Ladies on Monday 17th September at 10am in the Chapel. Please try to attend as we will be learning new pieces for Harvest!
Chapel Christmas Dinner 2018. This year we will be going to Carbis Bay Hotel on Sunday 16th December at 12.30pm for lunch at 1 o’clock. A £10 deposit per head is required when ordering (to be paid to Elizabeth by the end of September). Balance to be paid by end of November. Everyone is welcome!
Redecoration of Chapel. The cost of redecorating, outside and some inside will cost £6840. We have £4000 towards this (2 years of gift aid, gifts already received and gifts given in memory of loved ones). The gifts received at Harvest will go towards this project.
If anyone feels they would like to lead the worship before the services, please speak to Peter James.
Will folk please note that the car parking space at the Church Hall is only to be used for Church related activities. Sometimes people have come to clean the Chapel (or other duties) and have not been able to park.
The church is planning an Outreach at the time of the Town’s September Festival. We are trying to fit in with the theme of the Festival’s Arts/Crafts. These will take place in the Church Hall.
Monday 10th, 3pm to 5pm. Celebrate with a festival cream tea.
Tuesday 11th at 2.00pm. ‘SEASIDE CRAFTS’ see and do with a workshop in craft.
Thursday 13th at 11.30am. Hear and see how the early artists put the colour into old St Ives.
This is an opportunity for the whole church to be involved, there is something you can do and I would like to encourage you all to think about this. PRAY! Bring along someone you know. Chat to people. Help with coffee/teas, washing up, even drying a few cups. A really important thing is to encourage and support everyone by your presence. If you can help in any way, please contact Trish Jackson.
Please remember to collect stamps for Slavic Gospel Association funds. There is a collecting jar in the Schoolroom.
All the services in the Chapel are recorded and are available to purchase or to borrow. See Maurice Jackson or Joel Perkin if you would like to have one.
Thought for the Week: Jesus’ arms of welcome are always open!
